NOTES about BISPHAM'S ITER AUSTRALE REGINENSIBUS OXON, 1658

A poem was written, Iter Australe Reginensibus Oxon, to record a college progress from Queen's College, Oxford through Berkshire, Wiltshire, Dorset and Hampshire, by Thomas Bispham, 1658. A photocopy of the poem was kindly copied to MN by Felicity Henderson, Australia, June 2002.
map type: HantsMap & Bispham 1658
The poem, A Southward Journey from Queens College, Oxford, records in verse the progress of the college through Newbury, Berkshire, via Andover, Hampshire, then Salisbury and Wilton, Wiltshire, to Southampton and Winchester, Hampshire, and Sherborne, Dorset. I am told that it does not have very much topographical description.
The title page reads:-
Iter Australe, A REGINENSIBUS OXON. ANNO 1658. Expeditum.
And after a ?dedication there is an outline:-
Itineris Ratio.
Primo Abbingdoiam, inde Neuberiam, hinc Andoverniam, Salisburiam, Wiltoniam, Gissingiam, Hamptoniam, Wintoniam,Sherburniam denique concessimus.
I am a little puzzled by Gissing, which is in Norfolk and hardly fits in with the rest of the journey.
