FA2004.3:-
Map, hand coloured engraving, Hampshire, with the Isle of Wight, 6 sheets,
scale about 1 mile to 1 inch, by Isaac Taylor, 1759.
The 6 sheets are folded and pasted into a hard back guard book, marbled paper
covers with leather spine. In the volume the sheets are numbered 1,2,4,3,6,5
from the bottom right. The volume originally also held maps of Cornwall, Dorset
and the Isle of Wight, and some 'general' maps.
The colouring is very bright; it has been protected from fading by the maps
being in a book. It could have been done anywhen during the maps' history, at a
guess, perhaps early 19th century?
