| Farmhouse and adjoining barn/byres. Dated and inscribed over rear entrance E.G. M.G. 1611 T.G. (Greenhow family) with C20 alterations. Painted roughcast walls under C20 greenslate roof and brick chimney stack. 2 storeys, 4 bays with single-bay byre to left under common roof; right-angled 2-storey, single-bay extension to rear and right-angled 2-bay barn to rear, forming overall U-shape. Blocked entrance and ground floor chamfered-surround windows with stone mullions removed, all under continuous hoodmould. Upper-floor windows are larger but have chamfered surrounds. C20 door and windows in former byre to left. Rear entrance has Tudor-arched chamfered surround with inscribed frieze under hoodmould. Rear extension has original small chamfered-surround windows. Barn has chamfered-surround entrances and loft and C20 window. Interior of rear door has drawbar tunnel with drawbar stilt used. All interior doorways have chamfered stone surrounds under Tudor arches. Stone-arched inglenook with heck partition. Beamed ceilings. An early house for this area with an unaltered interior. | ||
