The Carlisle Canal Co was re-incorporated to convert the
canal to 11 miles of railway, opened 1854, with a 12 3/4
mile extension to Siloth Bay, opened 1856. It was leased to
the NBR 1862, and taken over 1880.
Passenger services were still horse drawn in 1914. | |
