Narrow Gauge Railways Ltd, ie Bassett-Lowke, bought the 7
mile narrow gauge line, 1915, it being closed since 1913. It
was rebuilt as a miniature railway at 15 inch gauge; the
L'al Ratty.
The route was from Ravenglass, Muncaster, to Eskdale - Dalegarth, Cumbria; the miniature railway ends short as it cannot manage the last climb to Boot. | |
