Public house. c1850. Ruled stucco, graduated slate roof. 2 storeys with cellars and attic, 3 bays; single-storey wing to rear. Square-headed central door in rusticated panel flanked by plain casements with projecting stone sills and painted surrounds. 1st floor: sill band links 3 similar windows; cemented eaves cornice. End stacks. Left return: 3-bay gable with windows as front; round-arched attic window. Flat-roofed wing to rear has blocked door on right of 2 round-arched windows divided by column and linked by hoodmould. Together with buildings of St George's Square (qv) forms part of the new town of Barrow centred on the Furness Railway terminus.
