| House, now 2 houses. Fireplace dated 1734. Roughcast stone with slate roofs. 2 storeys, 5 bays, the Cottage of 2 bays, recessed and lower. Windows are sashed with single glazing bars, most with horns. Central entrance has 6-panel door, 2 flush, 2 fielded, 2 glazed; flat canopy on shaped brackets. Gable-end stacks. Cottage has casement windows and plain entrance; tall gable-end stack. Rear has casement windows; stair windows have wooden cross-mullioned frames, part of lower and all of upper windows have leaded glazing with rectangular quarries. Interior has partition to right of entrance with fielded panels, dado rail and cornice; corresponding panelling is later, blocking original 2-panel kitchen door. Ovolo beams; stone fireplace with moulded opening and corbelled lintel, field panels to frieze flank panel with date and initials: 'IR' above. Grate has fire dogs and flanking stone human masks, and crane; spice cupboard with door. Another room has round-headed niche with shelves with shaped edges. 2-panel door with H-L hinges leads to dog-leg stair with square newels and moulded handrail, no balusters. | ||
