Ice House. Probably 1826 (same date as stable block). Sandstone rubble with ashlar dressings and roof. Sunken chamber with vaulted roof, reached by steps down to L-shaped passage. Passage originally had 4 doors. Roof has 2 rows of 6 iron hooks. Roof tarred and covered with earth. See Transactions Cumberland & Westmorland Antiquarian & Archaeological Society, new series, lxxxi, pp147-8.
