| Farmhouse and cottage, now all one dwelling. Probably early to mid C19; altered. Roughcast and slobbered rubble, Cumberland slate roof on 3 levels. Double depth main range plus small extension at left end and set back service wing at right hand end. The main range is 2 and 3 storeys to the same level, with attics, 3:1 windows; the 2 storey portion has symmetrically disposed openings offset left of centre, consisting of a doorway with vertically panelled door and 3 pane overlight, two 6 pane un-horned sashed windows at ground floor and 3 above; the 3 storey portion to the right has a smaller 6 pane horned sashed window at ground floor, another at first floor and a low oblong 8 pane window under the eaves; all these openings with raised plain surrounds. Gable chimneys and ridge chimney. Continued to the left is a small lofted extension which has external steps to a raised doorway in the front wall, and in the gable wall a doorway at ground floor, a low segmental headed 3 light window left of this and a square 12 pane window above. The right hand gable of the main range has 2 square 20 pane attic windows. Attached at the right hand rear corner is a service wing of 2 low storeys with a doorway and a casement window at ground floor and a 12 pane sash above; and, continued to the right, a single storey extension with a doorway and a 4 pane sashed window. The rear, which is irregular, has (inter alia) a back door and one 6 pane sashed window on each floor. Forms group with model farm buildings attached to north end. Included for group value. | ||

| Smithy and cottage, the former now a store and the latter unoccupied. Probably early to mid C19; altered c1900. Random granite rubble with quoins, red sandstone lintels, slate roof with brick chimneys. Two unit plan, the ground floor built back- to-earth. Two storeys and 2 windows; adjoining square-headed doorways offset slightly left of centre, that to the left with a board door and that to the right with a C20 stable door; square window to the left with fixed 8+8 pane glazing; window to right and both at 1st floor enlarged to vertical rectangular shape, all with fixed 16 pane glazing except that at ground floor which has C20 top-hung casement opening inserted in the upper half. Gable chimneys. Interior: the former smithy to the left contains a forge built of large granite blocks complete with large leather bellows suspended in a wooden frame with levered handle and chain still in working order. History: associated with former bobbin mill almost immediately adjoining to the north (now altered as a dwelling). Forms group with model farm buildings at Long Ridge Farm approximately 20 metres south (q.v.). | ||

| Range of pigsties, with cattle box or bull-pen, forming part of complete model farm. 1903 for Lord Ree of Gatehouse. Random granite rubble with quoins, graduated slate roof. Narrow rectangular plan containing a set of 4 pigsties with a bull-pen at left end, and pens in front of all. Single storey plus loft. The pigsties have 2 pairs of low square headed doorways, the pens in front of them enclosed by partitions of massive stone slabs and a rubble front wall which has 2 pairs of gates and 4 earthenware feeding troughs. The cattle box or bull pen at the left end has a wide segmental-headed doorway with outward opening board door, and the pen is enclosed the pen is enclosed by much higher rubble walls with rubble battlements. The whole range has 3 slit breathers to the loft, which is approached by external steps at the right hand gable wall. Together with the barn and shippon (q.v.), the stable block (q.v.), multi functional range (q.v.), manure shed (q.v.) and boundary wall (q.v.), forms part of complete model farm. | ||

| Cart-shed and loose-boxes. Probably 1903, for Lord Ree of Gatehouse; altered. Granite rubble, graduated slate roof. L-plan formed by 4 bay open fronted cart-shed with receding wing at right end containing 2 loose-boxes. The cart-shed has 4 square piers of massive granite blocks, a solid gable wall to the left (now the partition to a 5 bay C20 extension), a right hand gable wall approximately 2 metres high, the opening above this level now covered by corrugated sheeting; and bolted kingpost roof trusses. The rear wing has 2 stable doors with quoined surrounds, and a segmental-headed window between these with 3-pane glazing over a wooden ventilator. Forms visual and functional group with model farm buildings at Long Rigg Farm (q.v.). | ||

| Multi functional farm building incorporating cool store, wash house, loose boxes and kennel. 1903, for Lord Ree of Gatehouse. Random granite rubble with quoins, some red sandstone dressings, graduated slate roof. Long rectangular plan of 5 1/2 bays. Single storey; 5 square headed doorways with sandstone lintels, the 1st with flush board door, the 2nd with a recessed board door and the others with stable doors. Corniced single flue chimney on ridge at junction of cool store and wash house. Lean-to kennel at right hand gable. Rear wall has 5 segmental headed windows with 3 pane glazing over wooden ventilators. Interior: stone slab shelving in cool store; washing boiler in wash house; feeding troughs and racks in the loose boxes. Together with the barn and shippon (q.v.), the stable block (q.v.), the pigsties (q.v.), manure shed (q.v.) and boundary wall (q.v.), forms part of complete model farm. | ||

| Barn and shippon (bank barn type), forming part of model farm. Dated 1903 on gable walls, built for Lord Ree of Gatehouse. Granite rubble with quoins, red sandstone dressings and graduated slate roof. Rectangular 5-bay plan with elevated.entrance at rear to barn. Two storeys. The side to the yard has 5 segmental headed windows at ground floor with chamfered sills and granite voussoirs, and 3 pane glazing over wooden ventilators, a segmental headed loading doorway above the central window, and 2 slit breathers each side. coped gables with moulded kneelers and apex finials. Both gable walls have pentice roofs on wooden brackets protecting 2 shippon doorways next to the corners, the left also has a central feeding passage doorway, and both have datestones lettered "JHR/AD/1903". The rear has an earthen ramp up to a central gabled porch which has a wagon doorway protected by oversailing verges and an additional pentice canopy. Interior: shippon contains complete set of original double stalls for 32 cows in 2 rows facing a central feeding passage furnished with piped drinking bowls and granite feeding boxes, barn has trap door in centre of floor (over feeding passage in shippon), and 4 kingpost roof trusses. A fine example of its type, together with the stable block (q.v.), pigsties (q.v.), multi-functional range (q.v.), manure shed (q.v.) and boundary wall (q.v.) forming a complete model farm. | ||

Approximately 2 metres high, with rubble battlements; interrupted by gateways between farmhouse and stable, stable and barn, and between pigsties and multi-functional range; has steps up to small gateway at north- east corner between pigsties and barn. Completes unity to model farm; included for group value. | ||

| Manure shed, now store, forming the centre of a model farmyard. 1903, for Lord Ree of Gatehouse; slightly altered. Piers of large granite blocks and linking walls of random rubble, pyramidal roof of graduated slate. Almost square plan. Single storey, with square piers at each corner and in the centre of each side linked by low side walls except at the front facing the shippon (q.v.) which lacks the pier and is open; wide rectangular openings in sides and rear now covered externally by corrugated sheeting. Roof with oversailing eaves, carried on a single lateral roof truss. Together with the barn and shippon (q.v.), the stable block (q.v.), the pigsties (q.v.), the multi- functional range (q.v.) and boundary wall (q.v.), forms part of complete model farm. | ||

| Stable block, forming part of complete model farm. 1903, for Lord Ree of Gatehouse. Random granite rubble with quoins, some red sandstone dressings, and graduated slate roof. Rectangular plan, with tack room at south-west end. Two low storeys, 1:2 windows at ground floor only, all segmental-headed with chamfered sills and granite voussoirs, that to the tack room on the left being a 2 light casement and those to the stable having 3 pane glazing over wooden ventilators; doorways at left and right hand ends respectively, both square headed with red sandstone lintels, that to the left with a stable door and that to right now with a plain board door, 3 slit breathers under the eaves. Small ventilator on ridge. Rear (west) side has 2 small segmental-arched openings to the stable, a segmental-headed glazed and ventilated window to the tack room and 2 small loading doorways above. Interior: stable has stalls for 4 horses, with ramped wooden partitions and the original fittings; tack room has harness hooks, and wall ladder to loft (the only access to this). Together with the barn and shippon (q.v.), pigsties (q.v.), multi functional range (q.v.), manure shed (q.v.) and boundary wall (q.v.), forms part of complete model farm. | ||
