Mine lodge now private house. c1875. Red sandstone rubble with ashlar dressings, slate roof. 1 storey and attic; compact T-shaped plan. Roadside front: quoins; ashlar, 3x1-light bay window on right has chamfered mullions and wooden side brackets to lean-to roof; 2-light mullioned window on left and single, shouldered light above set in a gabled half dormer. Ridge stack on left, later brick shaft. Rear: wing has corbelled stack flanked by shouldered windows. Right return: shouldered lintel to original doorway into wing. Gable to left has 3-light mullioned window beneath shouldered, single light; oversailing verge. Part of iron-ore mine group built to serve Stank No.2 pit. Included for group value.
